Mediation has long been an underutilised and underestimated dispute resolution tool. With the advent of a new Rule of Court, rule 41A, it has so become a mandatory pre-action requirement to consider mediation prior to instituting action.
This requirement, together with the obvious savings in time and legal costs, has pushed mediation to the forefront.
The firm is fully equipped to attend to mediations, both in representing parties, as well as acting as mediators. Schalk van der Merwe and Geoff Ferreira are accredited mediators with Conflict Dynamics, and founding members of TIMA, the Tshwane Independent Mediation Association. The firm also has sufficient facilities and boardroom space to host mediations.

VFV Attorneys offer a Call Centre solution for pre-legal and legal insurance and general commercial services for a wide variety of clients.
Due to the various methods employed and the system driven environment, we can tailor make your solution.
Our expertise includes traditional collections for the medical fraternity, Insurance Industry on liability matters arising from motor vehicle accident claims, as well as commercial claims and recovery of professional fees and penalties.
SERVICES
MANAGING DEBTORS
We advocate management of debtors, rather than collection of bad debt. As a result, first contact is always a customer service exercise on behalf of our client and we focus on effectively communicating the magnitude of the problem of arrear accounts, whilst at the same time providing an affordable solution to the debtor. Our success on early management of debtors effectively reduces bad debt write-offs as well as proves to retain customers for the continuation of a long-term relationship.
LEGAL PROCESS
In those instances where it is required, either as instruction from our client, or as a result of truly delinquent accounts, the legal process is initiated. Until a matter becomes formally opposed however, it remains in the call centre, where follow up communication with the debtor takes place through telephone calls, sms messages and e-mails.
CONTINGENCY BASED SERVICES
The Insurance Department operates on the principal of no success, no fee, and accepts instructions on a contingency basis.
