PROFILE
Schalk was admitted as an attorney in 1979, as a Conveyancer in 1980 and as a Notary Public in 1985. He has extensive experience in property related work both in commercial and residential developments. This wealth of experience and expertise has seen Schalk acting as a project coordinator for a number of property development projects, commercial and residential. He also serves on the boards of directors of various property development and investment companies.
Schalk has, for more than ten years, served as a member of the Property Law Committee of the Pretoria Attorneys Association and also served as Chairperson. He is also a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Legal Practice Council and he was appointed by the Minister as drafter and examiner of the board examinations for Notaries, and currently serves as convenor and moderator on the national panel.
His qualifications in tax law and company law were born of a need by property developers to create the best tax-structures within which to conduct their business.
As an accredited mediator, he has mediated various disputes successfully, and is a founder member of the Tshwane Independent Mediator Association.
