Melissa completed her articles at VFV Attorneys and was admitted as an attorney on 26 August 2003.

She has more than 15 years’ experience in litigation and dispute resolution and has right of appearance in the High Court.

She assists various clients with regulatory compliance in various industries (including the financial services, insurance and telecommunication industries) and has a solid commercial law practice where she assists with all types of commercial agreements. She also assists start-up businesses with appropriate structuring advice, registrations and internal agreements.

She also advises non-profit entities in terms of appropriate structures and compliance including registrations and applications for PBO and Section 18A status to SARS and more.

Melissa also regularly advises importers and exporters in customs and excise-related matters and has been successful with various tariff classification disputes in the High Court. She has also assisted various clients with trade remedy applications in terms of the International Trade Administration Act.
